Jakarta, September 2026 — Following the success of its 16th exhibition held last August 11–13, Indo Waste & Recycling Expo & Forum continues to strengthen its position as a strategic platform for industry engagement and business opportunities. As Indonesia’s no.1 international waste & recycling technology and solution event, the exhibition brings together government, industry stakeholders, technology providers to support the advancement of sustainable waste management solutions.

Indonesia’s waste management sector continues to see growing opportunities as the development of waste-to-energy (WtE) and integrated waste treatment infrastructure gains momentum. A recent milestone was marked by the groundbreaking of a Rp3 trillion Municipal Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) project in Bekasi, designed to process up to 1,500 tonnes of municipal waste per day, equivalent to more than 500,000 tonnes annually. The facility is also expected to generate green electricity equivalent to the needs of approximately 55,000 households, demonstrating the potential of WtE development to integrate waste treatment with energy generation.

The development is part of a broader shift toward integrated waste management and resource recovery in Indonesia, creating opportunities across the environmental technology value chain, from waste collection and sorting and recycling to thermal treatment, WtE, air-pollution control, Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), waste monitoring, environmental engineering, and energy-generation solutions. This growing demand for technologies and expertise further highlights the importance of international collaboration in supporting the development of Indonesia’s waste management infrastructure.

To strengthen international industry connections, the Indo Waste & Recycling team will participate in RETECH Korea, an international trade fair for waste management, recycling, and environmental technologies, taking place on 2–4 September 2026. The participation also forms part of the event’s ongoing efforts to promote Indo Waste & Recycling 2027 and expand its international network ahead of the next edition. The initiative builds on the strong performance of the 2026 edition, which welcomed more than 700 exhibitors from 23 countries, with 20,000 square metres of exhibition space fully occupied and 17,925 visitors throughout the three-day event, reflecting strong participation from the international industry players.

Indo Waste & Recycling 2027 will be held on 24–26 August 2027 at Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) PIK 2, Tangerang, Indonesia, co-located with Indo Water, Indo Renergy & Electric, Indo Security, Indo Firex Rescue & Disaster, and Indonesia International Smart City Expo & Forum.
