Invites Global Industry Players to Unlock Opportunities in Indonesia's Growing Waste and Recycling Market

Jakarta, May 2026 — Indo Waste & Recycling 2026 Expo & Forum continues to expand its international engagement as part of its role in supporting Indonesia’s waste management transformation. As part of this effort, representatives of Indo Waste & Recycling are actively  connecting with global stakeholders through participation in international industry platforms, including an environmental technology and green energy exhibition held in South Korea on 20–22 May 2026. This initiative aims to foster partnerships, exchange insights, and promote Indonesia’s growing market potential to global industry players.

This initiative aligns with the Indonesian government’s increasing focus on waste management advancement. Under the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, waste handling has been positioned as a national priority requiring faster and more coordinated action. The government is pushing for improvements across the entire value chain, from upstream waste reduction to downstream processing, while also encouraging the development of waste-to-energy solutions, strengthening local government capacity, and opening wider opportunities for private sector participation.

Complementing this direction, the government is also accelerating infrastructure development, improving landfill management, and advancing circular economy practices. A clear national target has been set to bring waste under control within the next two to three years, with President Prabowo Subianto stating, “waste management is now a national priority, and within the next 2–3 years, we must be able to bring waste under control across Indonesia.” This strategic timeline highlights the need for effective and practical solutions across regions. With waste volume continuing to grow, particularly in urban areas, collaboration between technology providers, investors, and industry players is becoming increasingly important, driving demand for innovation and international expertise in Indonesia’s waste and recycling sector.

Responding to this momentum, Indo Waste & Recycling 2026 positions itself as a key platform to facilitate knowledge exchange and technology showcase, bridging global capabilities with local and regional needs. The 16th edition of Indo Waste & Recycling will take place on 11–13 August 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Indonesia, incorporating with Indo Water, Indo Renergy & Electric, Indo Security, Indo Firex, and IISMEX (Indonesia International Smart City Expo & Forum). This integrated platform enables cross-sector collaboration, supporting more holistic approaches that connect industries under one roof.

Reflecting the growing interest and opportunities within the sector, Indo Waste & Recycling continues to demonstrate consistent expansion.  In 2025, the exhibition successfully welcomed 620 exhibitors from 26 countries, along with 12 international country pavilions. For this upcoming edition in 2026, the event aims to grow further, targeting 700 exhibitors from 30 countries and welcoming 17,000 professional visitors.
